An American Red-tailed hawk
One of our local news channels has several cameras for traffic observation. It even has what they call the Raptor Cam which is positioned on a fire escape balcony and is focused on the Red-tailed hawks that are beginning to roost there.
The KGW-Audubon Society Raptor Cam provides a bird’s eye view of a pair of Red-tailed hawks nesting outside an office building in downtown Portland. Here is the link to the live camera: http://www.kgw.com/news-local/stories/kgw_021309_raptor_hawks_nest_.1106ef24.html.
This is so-o-o totally cool to watch! You can see the female sitting on her nest; while the wind ruffles her feathers a bit, she is totally oblivious to the traffic below her. Don’t miss this bird’s eye view of nesting hawks.
